PORT PROJECT CASE - TIANJIN PORT WATER DEPTH MAINTENANCE DREDGING

TIANJIN PORT——THE LARGEST COMPREHENSIVE PORT IN NORTHERN CHINA

Land-water region area: 326km²

Tianjin Port is a world-class artificial deepwater port. 300,000-ton ships are free to enter and exit the port

The main channel is 44 kilometers long, the water depth is -26.0 meters, and the total length of the shoreline is 32,700 meters

There are 176 berths in Tianjin Port, including 122 10,000-ton-above berths. In 2016, Tianjin Port's cargo throughput exceeded 550 million tons, ranking fifth in the world; container throughput exceeded 14.5 million TEUs, ranking 10th in the world

Annual maintenance dredging volume is about 4 million m³

CHARACTERISTICS TIANJIN PORT WATER DEPTH MAINTENANCE DREDGING

Large annual engineering amount and highly demanding on engineering quality and environmental protection

Water depth of the port: the maximum design water depth is -26m, and the design water depth of main channel is -22m

The soil components mainly include back-silting soil, muddy clay, silty clay and fine silt

The port is busy and requires all-day navigable. The dredger needs to avoid other ships frequently and stay and wait for a long time

SOLUTIONS

According to the characteristics of harbor basin, berth and channel dredging of Tianjin Port, Haichenhua has developed innovative construction technologies such as perennial water depth dynamic maintenance and composite seaworthiness deepening water depth maintenance. Haichenhua has independently developed and manufactured pneumatic suction pump self-propelled dredging system and customized new multi-purpose dredger fleet

Berth——developed horizontal pneumatic dredger with mud discharge concentration of 70-90% (underwater mud volume) and discharge capacity of 400~900m³∕ h

Harbor basin——developed cyclone pneumatic suction pump dredger with mud discharge concentration of 70-90% (underwater mud volume) and discharge capacity of 900~1200m³∕ h

Channel——developed self-propelled cyclone pneumatic suction pump dredger with mud discharge concentration of 60-80% (underwater mud volume) and discharge capacity of 1800-2700m³∕ h

TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES

Mud discharge concentration may reach as high as 1.3-1.40 t/m³. The mud may be directly loaded to the barge and no overflow is required

The dredger excavates deeply and largely, and moves flexibly. The Company's existing equipment can adapt to different waters such as channel, harbor basin and berth

Diversified functions of the workboats. With different suction pumps, the workboat will have different construction functions of different conventional dredgers

Miniaturized equipment, highly efficient, long effective operation time

One ship can handle the operation and multiple ships can work together. The ship is less limited by construction conditions and may withstand frequent avoidance and long time waiting

PORT PROJECT CASE - MALAYSIA PENANG PORT MAINTENANCE DREDGING

In 2015, two pneumatic pump environmental dredgers were successfully assembled in Penang, Malaysia. The dredger attracted broad attention from local dredging industry after the equipment was assembled because the dredger adopted self-innovated pneumatic pump dredging technology, which was way different from conventional dredging equipment. In 2016, the Company's environmental-friendly pneumatic pump suction dredger successfully conducted a trial excavation in Penang Port. The Port entrusted a third-party environmental consulting company to carry out tracking and monitoring on suspended solids concentration pollution in Haichenhua pneumatic pump operation area. After data comparison, there is no obvious change in suspended pollutants in surrounding waters before, after, and during the construction, which meets the demanding environmental protection requirements of the Port.
